About Us

Our Philosophy & Values

Poppins Bush School continually strives to provide a dynamic environment, which supports and enriches learning in the early years.

At Poppins Bush School, we believe that all children are unique. We encourage children to explore and investigate, which allows them to make discoveries either on their own or shared with others.

The educators endeavour to nurture curiosity and provide an engaging space which fosters imagination, creativity and respect. This allows the children to experience the freedom and magic of childhood and reach their full potential.

Poppins Bush School

Poppins Bush School has been inspired and influenced by many approaches. Our pedagogy encompasses loose parts play, nature play, risky play, and the ideas and values from the schools of Reggio Emilia, Italy.

We also understand the importance of family and community and endeavour to create collaborative relationships with families to better support their child’s early development.

We believe that children are active learners and make meaning of their world through play and nature. Educators work alongside children as co learners, collaborating with them to create spaces which reflect their interests and developmental needs.

The Educators role is to provide experiences which children can construct their own meaning with increasing depth and complexity. The integrity of each child as a learner, teacher and peer is valued and reinforced.

Poppins view of the child is a holistic one – encompassing the intellectual, social, emotional, physical and spiritual child. We aim to provide an environment, which is natural, safe, inviting and also challenging.

Poppins strives to facilitate genuine dialogue between children, parents, educators and our community. We always endeavour to positively advocate on behalf of children and their families.

Our Team

We are a team of innovative Early Childhood professionals who highly value building and maintaining strong, respectful relationships with children and families.

We believe that secure, positive relationships underpin a child’s development, promotes wellbeing and a positive sense of community. We place a strong emphasis on the importance of family and community and the belief that it ‘takes a village to raise a child’.

Open communication between families, educators and children is fundamental to our service. We believe that when children feel safe and valued, authentic and meaningful learning experiences can take place.
